Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 12, 2008 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Black Jack Cemetery in Batesville, MS.  Friends are welcome from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday October 11, 2008 at Wells Funeral Home. Mrs. Thompson was born Aug. 9, 1933 to the late Riley Ford and Myrtice Cook Ford in Water Valley, MS. She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. She had retired from Big Yank, Inc. in Water Valley, MS. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann Perkins Tapper of Pope, MS; sisters: Dorothy Gene Mixon of Courtland, MS and Kay Mettetal of Sardis, MS ; brothers Billy Ford of Water Valley, MS, Boyd Ford of Courtland, MS and Sonny Ford also of Courtland, MS. 1 granddaughter Michelle Putman and 1 great-granddaughter Alyssa Putman. Preceded in death by her parents, her  husband Ralph Thompson and brother Bobby Ray Ford.
