Wylie "Gene" Gowen, age 75, passed away late Tuesday evening, November 8, 2016 at his home near Batesville, MS.A memorial graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2016 at McIvor Cemetery near Batesville, MS.Gene was born August 2, 1941 in Sunnyvale, TX to the late John Lymuel and Audrey Juanita Morrison Gowen. He was a retired director of sale for the former Mini Systems, Inc. in Sardis, MS and was a honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran.Gene is survived by his son, Greg Gowen of Batesville, MS; step-son Daran Lee Robertson of Jerusalem, Israel; three sisters, Carol Ann McFarlin of Duncanville, TX, Mary Katherine Schwettmann of Enid, OK, Karen Juanita Fowler of Richardson, TX; brother, John Lymuel Gowen, Jr. of Denton, TX., and 4 grandchildren.
