Alan Wayne Scruggs, age 65, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026 at his home in Sardis, Mississippi.

A graveside service for Wayne will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis, Mississippi. Rev. Jim Scruggs will be officiating.

Wayne was born on October 3, 1960, in Barstow, California to the late Charles Donald Scruggs and Earlene Tucker Scruggs.

Wayne was a business owner for the majority of his life, demonstrating a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Upon retiring, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to caring for his parents, a responsibility he undertook with great pride and love. Those close to Wayne remember him not only for his business acumen but also for his exceptional dedication to family.

An ardent family man, Wayne found great joy in cooking, especially when preparing meals for his loved ones. His culinary passion was one of the many ways he expressed his affection and care. Those moments around the table remain vivid in the hearts of his family and friends and stand as a testament to his warmth and generosity.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Brenda Scruggs Crowell of Batesville, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Liz Scruggs of Hernando, Mississippi; and his nieces Melody Pearson, Michelle Kuykendoll, and Mary Margaret Pearson. They, along with many others, will cherish his memory dearly.

Along with his beloved parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Faron Earl Scruggs, and his brother-in-law, Dale Crowell.
