Betty Louise Powell

Betty Louise Powell, age 89, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home in Batesville, MS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville, MS.

Betty was born February 27, 1937 in Roe, AR to the late Sylvester and Gladys Ophelia Clark Slaughter. She was a communicant of St. Mary Catholic Church in Batesville, MS. Betty was a retired LPN where she dedicated her life to caring for others. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and working outside with her flowers. Her and her husband, Tommy, also spend many hours out on the lake fishing.

Betty leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas L. "Tommy" Powell of Batesville, MS; her three children, Rusty Kellum of Como, MS, Phillip Powell of Batesville, MS, Laura K. McMillin (Tim) of Crestview, FL along with two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Moler of Georgetown, AR.
