Betty Oleava Sensabaugh, age 84, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at her home in Courtland, MS, where she was lovingly comforted by her children.
Funeral services for Betty will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner, MS. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.
Betty was born on June 23, 1941, in Brazil, Mississippi to the late Odis Harry and Alice Marie Cummings Cloninger. Betty lived a life rich with love, dedication, and community spirit.
Betty was known to many as a longtime waitress at the former Western Sizzlin in Batesville, MS, where she touched countless lives with her warm smile and generous heart. Beyond her career, Betty’s passions extended into her devoted family life and her engagements in her community. She was a member of the Batesville Lion's Club and found great joy in playing Bingo at the Sardis Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Her love for gardening nurtured not just plants but all those around her, reflecting the care she carried deeply for family and friends alike.
A woman who treasured family above all else, Betty is survived by her beloved children: daughters Vickie Lynn Russell (Homer) of Carthage, Mississippi; Sandra Lee Morris (Paul) of Lyon, Mississippi; Wendy Oleava Graham (Bo) of Brandon, Mississippi; Melissa Campbell (David) of Batesville, Mississippi; and her son Joey Sensabaugh (Pam) of Courtland, Mississippi. She also leaves behind her son Christopher Sensabaugh (Chance) of Batesville, Mississippi. Family gatherings echoed with laughter from her thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring love and presence in their lives. Betty's sisters, Pauline Morris of Lyon, Mississippi, and Myra Wilmoth of Pearl, Mississippi, also carry forward the bond they shared throughout their lives.
While we celebrate her life, we also remember those she joins again, including her husband Marvin T. Sensabaugh, her daughter Felicia, and her dear parents, Odis Harry and Alice Marie Cummings Cloninger. Betty was one of ten children. Her siblings who proceeded her in death are Mary Alice Smith, Faye Owens, Barbara Ann Winters, Bernice Owens, Frances Breazeale, Florence Foster, and Johnny Cloninger. What a reunion in Heaven there must be. The family also mourns the loss of her great-grandson Gavin Moore, who preceded her in passing.
Betty Oleava Sensabaugh’s legacy is one woven from the threads of kindness and an ever-present love for her family. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room and the quiet strength she offered to those fortunate enough to know her. Her garden of life is one planted firmly in the hearts of all who were touched by her generous soul.
