Betty Shipp Watson

Betty Shipp Watson was called home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her sister's home in Batesville, MS at the age of 73.

A memorial service for Betty will be announced in the near future.

She was born on December 12, 1952, in Panola County, MS to the late Robert S. Shipp, III and Nola Manning Shipp. 

Betty was a devoted mother to her daughter, Julie Watson of Mt. Vernon, IL. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, including her dear sisters Peggy Shipp Gordon, Bonnie Shipp Anderson, both residing in Batesville, MS, and Diana Shipp Watson, of Cincinnati, OH, and her brother, Bobby Shipp, of Batesville, one grandson, Dylan Austin of Mt. Vernon, IL. Betty's legacy continues through her three great-grandchildren, who were particularly dear to her heart.

Her passions included engaging in arts and crafts, cooking delightful meals, and spending treasured moments with her grandchildren. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and her spirit of kindness and creativity touched the hearts of many throughout her journey. Betty was a Christian by faith.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert S. Shipp, III and Nola Manning Shipp, her granddaughter, Brooke Austin, and one brother, Billy Ray Shipp.
