Bobby S. Woodruff, age 87, a devoted cotton farmer of the Batesville community, passed away on Friday evening, November 14, 2025, in his lifelong hometown of Batesville, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 17, 2025, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends at 11:00 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.
Bobby was born on November 21, 1937, in Batesville, to the late Seab Alberta and Tommye Jones Woodruff, where he dedicated his life to both his family and his agricultural pursuits.
Bobby was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft, spending many years as a dedicated cotton farmer. His passion for farming was evident in the way he cared for his land and livestock, especially his cherished cows. In addition to his farming commitments, Bobby was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville, reflecting his deep-rooted values and community spirit.
Not only was Bobby a hardworking farmer, but he also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, demonstrating his commitment to service and duty. After returning home, he centered his life around his family, who were his greatest joy and pride.
He leaves behind his daughters, Stacey Woodruff Golmon (Brad) of Oxford, MS, and Lacey Woodruff Robertson (Jason) of Batesville, MS. Bobby adored his grandchildren, Graham Golmon and Will Golmon of Oxford, MS, with whom he shared countless memories. He is also survived by his sister, Tommye Ann Walker of Batesville, MS.
Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Baker Woodruff, and his parents, Seab Alberta and Tommye Jones Woodruff.
Bobby S. Woodruff will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his contribution to the farming community, and his gentle spirit that touched the lives of many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
