Brenda Joyce Hill, age 74, passed away Thursday morning, May 21, 2026, at her home in Pope, MS.

The family will be having a private celebration of her life.

Brenda was born on December 11, 1951, in Jasper, Alabama to the late Autrey Colin and Bertha Wisner Wilson.

Brenda was a woman of gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. She cherished the quiet moments spent outdoors, especially fishing, where she found solace and connection with nature. Her afternoons were often filled watching the TV show Outlander, a series she watched with enthusiasm and appreciation. When not outdoors or watching her favorite shows, Brenda enjoyed delving into the pages of her books and engaging with the world through scrolling on her phone, always eager to stay connected with loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Wayne Hill of Pope, MS, whose love and companionship were pillars in her life. Brenda was a proud and loving mother to four children: Shelly Armstrong (Bobby) of Batesville, MS; Chris Hill (Sara) of Pope, MS; Brian Hill (Cindy) of Pope, MS; and Darrin Hill of Sardis, MS. Her family was further blessed with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her days.

A cherished sister to Grace Heskett of Enid, MS, Rita Diane Wilson of Alabama, Barry Wilson of Michigan, and Steve Wilson of Michigan, Brenda’s presence was a source of comfort and strength to her siblings.
