William Jennings "Bubba" Waldrup, age 72, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Batesville Presbyterian Church with the family receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. The interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.
Bubba was born July 17, 1949 in Oxford, MS to the late James Edd and Eleanor Raye Davis Waldrup. He was a member and deacon of the Batesville Presbyterian Church. Bubba honorably served in the Mississippi National Guard. Bubba attended school in Batesville and graduated from South Panola High School in 1967 where he was elected Mr. SPHS. He is a graduate of Arkansas State University where he played football and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
Bubba enjoyed the company of his friends and fellow farmers as he managed Panola Seed and Feed Company, his family's business. He also served Panola County as District 5 Supervisor for a number of years. Throughout many years, Bubba farmed to provide for his family before retiring. He always had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed spending as much time with his grandchildren as possible. Bubba loved the outdoors while fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends on the lake.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Connie Parrott Waldrup of Batesville, MS; three daughters, Susan Waldrup Hardy (Carey) of Courtland, MS, Christy Waldrup Upchurch (Dennis) of Nesbit, MS, Jennifer Waldrup of Madison, MS; brother, James Allen “Jimmy” Waldrup of Batesville, MS; seven grandchildren, Bryce Colbert, Britton Colbert, Addison Hardy, Easton Hardy, Bankston Johnston, Parker Johnston, and Courtney Upchurch.
