Charles Jerry Brown, age 83, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at Highland Hill Medical Center in Senatobia, MS.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Sardis Lake Baptist Church with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.

Jerry was born on September 27, 1942, in Ringo, Georgia to the late William Jasper and Eula Irene Floyd Brown, he lived a life rich with love, devotion, and connection to those around him.

Jerry was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful interactions. He had a unique passion for bartering and trading various items, and he was a familiar and welcomed presence at local flea markets, where his keen eye and warm spirit made him a beloved figure among vendors and buyers alike. Shopping at thrift stores was another favorite pastime, where his knack for discovery and storytelling wove countless tales of friendship and community. Above all, Jerry loved people deeply. His vibrant social life was enriched by his active participation at Sardis Lake Baptist Church, where he not only found spiritual nourishment but also built strong bonds with his church family and many others in social gatherings.

His dedication to his faith and fellowship was a cornerstone of his identity, reflecting the heartfelt kindness and generosity that he extended freely throughout his life. Jerry’s life was a testament to the power of community, and the profound impact one person can have through genuine connection and love.

Jerry’s family was the heart of his world. He is survived by his loving wife, Lender Fay Brown of Sardis, Mississippi, whose partnership and companionship were a source of strength and joy. Together they shared many treasured moments and built a family rooted in love. Jerry was a devoted father to Kay Vonhaden of Georgia, Myra McGee of Ripley, Mississippi, Michael Brown of Ripley, Mississippi, Rusty Brown of Southaven, Mississippi, Chris Hindmon of Hernando, Mississippi, and Tommy Hindmon of Senatobia, Mississippi. Each of his children carry forward the values he instilled in them. Jerry sister, Lois Hart of Lakeland, Florida, remains a treasured part of his family. His warm legacy extends to his eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, who will remember him as a guiding light and a comforting presence.

Though Jerry’s parents, William Jasper and Eula Irene Floyd Brown, have passed on, as have five siblings and two grandchildren, their memory lives on in the stories and hearts of those who knew him. Jerry’s sister, Lois Hart of Lakeland, Florida, remains a treasured part of his extended family.
