Charles Cobb, age 83, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026 at North MS Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Charles will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Sardis Lake Baptist Church with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Charles will be laid to rest at McIvor Baptist Church Cemetery near Sardis, Mississippi.
Charles was born on February 9, 1943 to the late Clyde Cobb and Reathie Dell Johnson Cobb in Sardis, MS.
Charles honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he earned his rifle expert recognition, exemplifying his commitment to service and discipline. Following his military career, he devoted over 30 years as a senior technician at the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), where his expertise and professionalism earned him great respect.
An active member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church and former member of the Batesville Civitan, Charles was deeply involved in his local community. His passion for outdoor activities was evident in his love of fishing, gardening, yard work, woodworking, and building and flying model airplanes—hobbies that brought him joy and allowed him to share his skills with others.
Above all, Charles cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He actively participated in his children’s lives, coaching them in their younger years, and took great pleasure in spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Charles’s legacy lives on through his loving wife, Faye Cobb of Batesville, MS; his three daughters—Whitney Hawkins (Joe) of Oakland, MS, Angie Epps Brewer of Batesville, MS, and Rhonda Tutor (David) of Fairhope, AL; and his cherished grandchildren, Josh Wilkinson, Erica Henry (Hunter), Bobby Epps (Kaylee), Allie Glover (Rusty), Austin Epps (Allie), Tristen Tutor (Alana), Caleb Tutor (Abby), Natalie Hawkins, A.J. Hawkins, Lily Grace Hawkins, and Meredith Tutor. Charles was also blessed with five great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his niece and nephew, Vickie France Dipuma and Rick France.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Cobb and Lisa Mills; his sister, Lula France; and his granddaughter, Shelby Golden.
