Charles Ray "Chuck" Nix, Jr.

Charles Ray "Chuck" Nix, Jr., born on October 10, 1953, in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Charles Ray Nix and Patricia Ann Davis Nix, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Memphis, TN, surrounded by his loving family.

Family and friends are encouraged to remember Chuck and celebrate his life during a Memorial Gathering and Service to be held at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The Gathering will start on August 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM, followed by the Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.

Chuck was raised in the Curtis community and graduated from South Panola High School in 1971. His infectious laughter and fun-loving personality endeared him to many, while his zest for life was evident in all that he pursued. Chuck was an avid hunter and fisher, with a profound appreciation for wildlife, and he embraced the great outdoors with open arms. He was a passionate Civil War buff. Professionally, Chuck retired from Stringers International, where he excelled in selling farm equipment and received distinction as one of the nation’s top sellers. His dedication and commitment to his work were evident.

Chuck is survived by his two daughters, Olivia Nix Estridge (Eric) and Charley Ann Nix Moore (Bryce) both of Batesville, who will carry forward his legacy with love. He was the cherished grandfather to three grandchildren; Emma Ray, Macey, and Archer, who brought immense joy to his life. Chuck leaves behind one sister, Rebecca Nix Reed (Bobby) and one brother, Malcolm Nix (Kim) both of Batesville.

His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Chuck's life was a testament to the beauty of love, laughter, and the joys found in nature and family.
