Charlie Carter, age 74, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his home near Pope, MS.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Batesville Presbyterian Church followed by a celebration of life service for Charlie at 11:00 A.M.
Charles William "Charlie" Carter was born on March 31, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Harry Henderson and Jean Lovett Carter. Charlie dedicated his life to his family, was a fervent outdoorsman, and had a successful career in hardware sales.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Kairit Carter, of Batesville, Mississippi; his daughters, Jenny Carter Herron (Jason) of Batesville, Mississippi, and Megan Carter Miskel (Justin) of Collierville, Tennessee. He was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Mason Wilkerson (Emily), McKay Herron (Zack Bishop), Miranda Miskel, Loren Miskel, Marshall Miskel, and Eleanor Miskel. In addition, Charlie took great joy in being a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren: Grae, Asher, Rhys, and Burke. He is remembered fondly by his sister, Lyn Carter Arnold (Jimmy) of Tunica, Mississippi.
An outdoor enthusiast, Charlie was known for his passion for nature. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly as an avid duck hunter. His love for deer hunting and fishing further reflected his vibrant connection to the natural world. Charlie's altruistic spirit will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In memory of Charlie, the family request that memorial contributions be sent to the Batesville Presbyterian Church, 121 Eureka St. Batesville, MS 38606.
Charlie Carter's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, leaving behind a wealth of memories filled with laughter, love, and shared adventures. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
