Christopher "Chris" Joseph Gulledge, Sr., age 52, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his sister's home in Calhoun City, MS. 

Funeral services for Chris will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The interment will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Pittsboro Cemetery in Pittsboro, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. 

Chris was born on June 6, 1969 to Sadie Mae McInnis Gulledge and the late James Franklin Gulledge, Sr. in Oxford, MS. He earned his associate’s degree through Northwest Community College and proudly served our Country in U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Saratoga. Chris was a 911 Dispatcher for over 25 years serving in Panola County and Calhoun County. He was also a former EMT and volunteer firefighter. Chris took pride in all that he did. When he was not working, he enjoyed watching the Ole Miss Rebels and the University of Alabama play football. Chris loved helping people and truly had a servants heart when it came to public service.  

The family he leaves behind includes his two children, Grace Gulledge and Christopher “Bubba” Gulledge, Jr. both of Batesville, MS; one sister, Rachel Ingle (Steve) of Calhoun City, MS; his mother, Sadie Mae Gulledge of Pittsboro, MS; one brother, James Franklin “Frankie” Gulledge, Jr. (Melanie) of Gluckstadt, MS; a niece, Stephanie Adams (Landon) of Calhoun City, MS; three nephews, Jameson Noah Gulledge of Gluckstadt, MS, Johnathan Abram Bryant Gulledge of Gluckstadt, MS, and Nicholas Cale Ingle of Calhoun City, MS; one great niece, Aria James Adams of Calhoun City, MS; and one future great nephew.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
