Christopher "Chris" Glenn Sullivan, age 51, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
A celebration of Chris's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home, with the inurnment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, Mississippi. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. before the service.
Chris was born on September 28, 1974 in Marks, Mississippi to George Allen Sullivan and Emma Elizabeth Sullivan. He lived with authenticity and was known for his calm demeanor, dry humor, and deep passion for technology.
From an early age, Chris demonstrated an unusual affinity for computers. At just 12 years old, he built his first computer, setting the foundation for a career that would link his talents with his desire to help others. This passion led him first to work as a computer repair technician at Complete Computers in the early/mid 1990s, then to become co-owner of Premier Computer Solutions in 1999. In 2005, he began his career at Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association, eventually becoming the Director of IT, where he was a cherished coworker and friend to employees at every level of the company.
In his late teens and early twenties, he honorably served in the Army National Guard. He was actively into strength training for many years. He was a gamer at heart, and raiding with his World of Warcraft guild was the highlight of his week.
To his daughters, Taylor and Lauren, he was the fireworks lighter, Easter egg dyer, pumpkin carver, and gaming server maker. To his wife, Sonya, he was the provider, encourager, stabilizer, and protector. To his brothers, Rodney and Timothy, he was a role model, an inspiration, and a constant source of laughter. To his parents, he was the perfect son.
Chris is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 25 years, Sonya Sims Sullivan of Batesville, Mississippi. He was the proud father to two daughters, Taylor Brooke Sullivan and Lauren Claire Sullivan both of Batesville, Mississippi. His family also includes two brothers, Rodney Allen Sullivan and Timothy Brian Sullivan both of Batesville, Mississippi, and his devoted parents, George Allen "Bubba" Sullivan and Emma Elizabeth "Sissie" Sullivan, who also reside in Batesville.
Chris leaves behind a legacy cherished by family, friends, and the community he served so well. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Panola County Humane Society in honor of Chris Sullivan.
