Clara Mae Kuczkowski, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services for Clara will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will begin to receive friends at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.

Clara was born on July 3, 1938, in Marks, MS to the late S.B and Delmar Sanders Ellis.

Clara retired to her home in Batesville, MS after her career working for an electrical manufacturing company in Chicago, IL after many years of service.

She loved working in her flower garden and carefully tended to her yard. Her beloved pet dog, Lucy, was a constant companion who brought her happiness. Clara’s spiritual life was equally fulfilling; she was a faithful member of Bethany Independent Baptist Church in Courtland, MS, where her dedication and faith were cornerstones of her daily life.

Clara is survived by her sister, Roxie Pate Marbury of Batesville, MS; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ellis and Wilene Ellis, both of Courtland, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kuczkowski; her parents, S.B. and Delmar Sanders Ellis; her sisters, Frances Daugherty and Alma Ruth Ellis; and her brothers, John Ellis and Randolph Ellis.
