David was born June 14, 1973, in Batesville, Mississippi, to Reba Darby Polson and the late David Henry Polson, Sr. From an early age, David learned the value of hard work from his father, who taught him the trade of painting houses. What began as a trade passed down from father to son became a lifelong way of providing for his family. David spent most of his life working as a self-employed house painter, putting in long days and taking pride in knowing that a hard day’s work was something he could always give.

David lived a life that was not always easy. He knew struggle, he knew hard times, and he knew what it meant to work for everything he had. But no matter how difficult life became, he continued to work hard and do everything he could for the people he loved. He was a man who may not have had everything handed to him, but he gave everything he could to his family—especially his daughters and granddaughters. They were among his greatest reasons to keep going and his greatest sources of pride.

David was a true country boy at heart. He was happiest outdoors, where he could fish, hunt, and enjoy the simple things in life. He had a deep appreciation for the land and the ability to make do with what he had. He was the kind of man who could spend a day in the woods or on the water and feel right at home. Hunting and fishing weren’t simply hobbies to David; they were a part of who he was and where he found peace.

And wherever David went, his faithful dog, Ruger, was never far from his heart. Ruger was more than a dog—he was David’s companion, his friend, and a part of his family. Those who knew David knew how much he loved that dog. While his family mourns his passing here on earth, there is comfort in knowing that David has been reunited in Heaven with his beloved Ruger, together again where there is no more pain, hardship, or sorrow.

David’s greatest accomplishment was not the houses he painted or the long hours he worked, but the love he gave his family. He was a husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who loved his family in his own way and worked tirelessly to provide for them. His daughters and granddaughters will forever carry the memory of a man who did the best he could with what life gave him and who never stopped trying to take care of the people he loved.

David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Kelli Polson of Batesville, MS; his daughters, Madison and Dallas Polson, both of Batesville, MS; and his granddaughters, Kinsley Ramirez and Saylor Jones. He is also survived by his mother, Reba Darby Polson of Batesville, MS; and his sisters, Pamela Sensabaugh (Joey) of Courtland, MS, and Natalie Shields of Batesville, MS.
