Dorothy was born on July 5, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. She lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

For much of her career, Dorothy worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), specializing as a geriatric nurse where she showcased her nurturing spirit and deep care for her patients. Her passion for service extended beyond her nursing career; she also took on the role of a first responder, contributing her time as a part-time EMT and volunteering with the Lafayette County Fire Department. Dorothy embodied what it meant to serve her community, making a significant impact on many lives through her selfless work.

A devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church in Como, Mississippi, Dorothy was actively involved in church activities, passionately engaging with her Bible Study group and participating in various church events. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and relationships.

Dorothy had the opportunity before and during retirement to explore her love for travel and the outdoors alongside her husband, Raymond. Together, they journeyed across nearly all the states in their motor home, creating a lifetime of memories. Dorothy found joy in fishing trips and in the simple pleasures of nature—gardening, watching hummingbirds, and caring for her chickens. She was also a talented seamstress with a love for embroidery, spending time at local flea markets and cherishing moments with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia Childress (Cameron) of Como, MS, Victoria L. Hart (Dale) of Vancleave, MS, Robby John Grant (Tiffany) of Como, MS, Dennis Grant of Batesville, MS, and Dennis Jones (Alice) of Como, MS.

Dorothy also leaves behind her siblings, Bonnie Moore, Suzanne Malugen, JoAnn Snodgrass, Paula Komenda (Vern), Kathy Pack, Fernando Andrews, Carlos Andrews, Delores Andrews, and Richard Andrews; her grandchildren, Ashley Tutor, Brandon Powell, Andrew Smith, Ashley Hart, Brittany Webb, Jessica Sanders, Stephen Sanders, Emma Thomson, Prestin Thomson, Harley Grant, Taylor Grant, and Stormie Meredith. As well as her great grandchildren, Avery Metts, Izzy Dyer, Raelynne Giblin, Dianna Webb, Atlas, Natalie, Mason Smith, Avalyn Martin, Brody Webb, Shelby Webb, and Kensley Tutor. She also leaves behind her precious fur-baby, Marley.

Dorothy is now rejoicing in her eternal home with her husband, Raymond Jones; her two sons, Arthur Biggers and David Grant; her parents, Stanley Lefanowicz and Victoria Wobobzinska Lefanowicz; and her biological father, Arthur Andrews.

Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service that will be forever treasured by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
