Floyd W. Golden

Floyd W. Golden, age 84, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. He was the husband of Marjorie Golden of Sledge.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be held following the service Saturday at Peach Creek Cemetery. Rev. Lee Allred will officiate.

Floyd was born November 25, 1936 to the late Adam Golden and U.V. Neal Golden in Marks, MS. Floyd was retired from Cooper Tire Company in Clarksdale. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Marks. In his down time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family.

The loving family he leaves behind includes his wife, Marjorie Golden of Sledge; children, Angela Wells (Edgar) of Batesville, Roger Dale Golden of Crowder, Jackie Bowles (Mary) of Meridian, Keath Bowles of Meridian; siblings Peggy Clemmer of Senatobia, Irene Smith of Crowder, John Golden of Marks, Gene Golden of Crowder, JR Golden of Oakland; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by five children, Kitty, Kathy, and Patricia Golden, Audrey Woods, Edgar Bowles, Jr.; sisters, Lorene Morgan, Jane Roberson, Barbara Dunn, Ellen West; brothers, Wayne, Vernon, Loyld, Earl, and Herman Golden, Jake, Lee, Rod, and C.W. Pruitt.
