Gerald Wayne Griffis

Gerald Wayne Griffis, age 69, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 at his home in Batesville, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. John Howell, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Gerald was born on October 30, 1956 to the late Arthur Wheeler and Clyde Campbell Griffis in Batesville, MS. His career at United Solutions showcased his exceptional talents as a machinery technician until health concerns restricted his work. Known among his family as a Jack-of-all-trades, he possessed a remarkable ability to tackle a wide range of tasks with expertise and reliability. Beyond his professional skills, Gerald was an avid outdoorsman, embracing the beauty and tranquility of nature, which reflected his spirited and curious nature.

Those who knew Gerald best remember a man who never met a stranger—his friendly demeanor and genuine kindness touched everyone he encountered. Above all, he was a true family man who cherished the time spent with his immediate and extended family, showing love and support that left lasting impressions on all their lives.

Gerald is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Susan Mills Griffis of Batesville; his two sons, Joshua Lukas Griffis and Joseph Louis Griffis, both of Batesville; and his daughter, Kimberly Renee Robichaux of Flowood, Mississippi. He also leaves behind two siblings, Jowanda Hubbard of Batesville and Ronald Hill of Weir, Mississippi.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Hill.
