Glenda Tedford Hagood, age 72, passed away early Monday morning, March 2, 2026, at her home in Pope, MS.
The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening, March 3, 2026, at Wells Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS.
Glenda was born on March 12, 1953, in Minneapolis, MN to the late Glen Morlan Lawson and Doris Darlene Crow Edwards. She was a loving mother, sister, and cherished friend, whose unwavering dedication to her family defined her life. Glenda was a retired social worker, a role that reflected her compassionate nature and her desire to uplift those around her.
A devoted member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, MS, Glenda found joy and solace in her faith, nurturing her spirit through worship and fellowship. Her heart was filled with warmth as she prepared meals for her family and friends, creating cherished memories during family gatherings. Christmas was a particularly special time for Glenda, a season she embraced wholeheartedly, filling her home with love, laughter, and the joy of togetherness.
Glenda took immense pride in her role as a grandmother. Watching and caring for her ten grandchildren—Brady Chambley, Wyatt Chambley, Blake Carroll, Brittany Carroll Gulledge, Bradley Tedford, Walker Tedford, Molly Ann Tedford, Kelsey Wolfe Gage, Trey Tedford, and Ty Tedford—was a source of boundless happiness for her. In addition to her grandchildren, she was blessed with three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Glenda is survived by her loving children, Monica Tedford Carroll of Ozark, AL, Stephanie Tedford Chambley of Winona, MS, Jamie Tedford of Crestview, FL, Brad Tedford of Water Valley, MS, and Byron Tedford of Pope, MS. She is also survived by her sister, Julie Lawson Young of Oxford, MS, and her brother, Delbert "Bubba" Smith of Water Valley, MS. Glenda shared countless beautiful moments with her family and always found joy in spending time with her dear friend, Ann Snider.
Though her heart now rests in eternity, Glenda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Earl Hagood; her father, Glen Morlan Lawson; her mother, Doris Darlene Crow Edwards; and her siblings, Debbie Lawson McAdams and Kenny Dale Lawson, as well as her half-brother, Robert Smith. Each of these individuals touched Glenda’s life in profound ways, shaping her into the loving person she became.
