Obituary

Henry August Hackman, Jr., 93, dear husband and loving father of Coffeeville, MS left his wonderful life June 2, 2026 at Bruce Community Living Center, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026 the Charleston First Methodist in Charleston, Mississippi. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Our loving Dad was born to Myrtle and Henry Hackman, Sr. March 23, 1933. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Shaw, Maxine Williamson, Laverne Douglas, Betty Rogers, Mildred Ferguson and one brother. George Hackman.

Dinky attended Northwest MS Junior College and married his high school sweetheart, Julia Roberson then joined the United States Army.

He leaves behind his 2 sons, Steve (Nita) and Maury Hackman, 1 daughter, Connie Hoffman (Frank). He was dearly loved by 4 grandchildren, Cory and Brandon Mallard, Crystal Selby and Leigha Yeagher. He also leaves 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, as well as his nephews, Ronnie and George, along with several nieces. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Dinky was part owner of Hackman and Roberson Lime and Fertilize in Charleston for many years. He was well known in the community and will be greatly missed by those that knew him.

Our loving Father was an avid hunter and loved the sport that he shared with close friends and his sons and grandchildren. He was a very proud gun collector for many years and could work on and fix/repair all models.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Bruce Community Living Center and Hospice for the kindness and care he received before his death.

Dinky is reunited with the love of his life, Julia Roberson Hackman. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to The First Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159,  Charleston, MS 38921 or St. Judes Childrens Hospital
