Hosey Max White, 87, of Batesville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home. Born on January 26, 1938, in Lambert, Mississippi, to Ira Austin White and Velma Huddleston White, who preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Hosey will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00. Interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.
Hosey served his family and community throughout his life. He was a lifelong farmer, an equipment salesman, a church deacon, and a bank board member, among numerous other hats he wore! He loved to travel with those closest to him, especially to Gatlinburg and Branson. His travels were filled with camaraderie, fellowship, card games and laughter at his wisecracks and good humor. A devout Southern Baptist, Hosey was a lifelong member and eventually, Sunday School Director and Deacon, of Enon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Hosey was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Ann Myers White and Eleanor Barnett White; his son, Scott White; his sister, Barbara White Riley, and his stepchildren, Victor Carpenter, Cooper Carpenter, Gaeba Gray, and Jason Barnett. He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Williams-White; his daughter, Cindy McNally (Bill); his brother Ira Gail White (Ann), his stepdaughter Robyn Walters (Kendall), several grandchildren, Christina, Ariel, Darcy, Rebecca, Hannah, Jeremy, Halcyon, Sayre, Ashley, Alan, Katie, Maelena and numerous great-grandchildren.
Hosey’s legacy is one of faith, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
