Jennifer Dancy Ellis, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Oxford, Mississippi, at the age of 61. Born on July 27, 1964, in Batesville, Mississippi, she spent her life cherishing the beauty of nature and the joys of family.
Jennifer’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on August 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Later that day, she will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, surrounded by the beauty she so cherished.
Jennifer had a profound talent as an artist, she particularly loved painting and drawing. She found joy in wildflower gardening. Her affinity for nature extended to feeding and watching her beloved hummingbirds, which brought her peace and happiness. Additionally, she was an avid journal keeper and devotionalist, capturing her thoughts and experiences daily while improving her well-being. Jennifer's passions also included hunting and fishing, and she treasured every moment spent at the beach or lake, embracing life to the fullest. Above all, her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, affectionately known as Gram/Grammy.
Jennifer is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy Ellis of Grenada; their children, Ariel Crigler (Braden) of Courtland, Jordan Ciaramitaro (Brandon) of Brookhaven, Hilary Dancy-Kate Bailey of Batesville, Timothy Ellis, Jr. (Mary Agnes) of Germantown, TN, Jessica Ellis Monteath (Matt) also of Germantown, and Hollie Bailey Skaggs (Matt) of Collierville, TN. She was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren: Carder and Wyatt Crigler, Ramsi, Banks, and Palmer Ciaramitaro, Karlee and Blake Skaggs, Wilkes, Edie, Mary Wright, and Oliver Ellis, and Ellis Monteath. Jennifer also leaves behind her siblings, Kathy Dancy Respess of Lambert, Raymond L. "Dan" Dancy of Germantown, Chris Dancy of Batesville, and Jonathan Dancy of Marks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Laverne Dancy and Christine Ellis Dancy, whose love and guidance shaped her life.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
