Jerelene F. Armstrong, age 92, went to her heavenly home Wednesday evening, August 16, 2023, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Batesville, MS with the interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the church.
Jerelene was born August 12, 1931 to the late Jerry Lee Ferrell and Mary Elizabeth Woodruff Ferrell in Panola County, MS. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in 1952. Jerelene went to work as a bookkeeper for the City of Batesville for 34 years before her retirement. A member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Jerelene served as the treasurer for many years. She enjoyed singing and using her voice to praise the Lord. She LOVED to share her faith and was a prayer warrior. She was always encouraging others. Encouragement is a simple act of compassion given to others that Jerelene shared freely.
In addition to her parents, Jerelene was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Jackson, her grandson, Jason Anthony, two brothers, Melvin Ferrell and Charles Ferrell.
The loving family she leaves behind includes her children; Jerrie Roberts (David) of Amory, MS, Melanie McDonald (Bruce) of Terry, MS, Jimmy Armstrong (Cindy) of Courtland, MS; grandchildren, Craig Dillon of Sardis, MS, Melissa Herndon (Brad) of Saltillo, MS, Stephanie Crawford (Kyle) of Argyle, TX, Amanda Sullivan (John) of Germantown, TN, Leslie Sultan (Colby) of Gore Springs, MS, James McDonald (Monica) of Brandon, MS, Steven McDonald (Jennifer) of Ocean Springs, MS, Josh McDonald (Yvette) of Folson, LA; great grandchildren, Kahlan James, Emma Kate Herndon, Ava Grace Crawford, Brianna Crawford, John Wesley Sullivan, Sara Katherine Sullivan, Colby E. Sulton, Will Dillon, Brennan McDonald, and Dylan McDonald.
Proverbs 31:30 best describes Jerelene: “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”
