Jimmy D. Cates
December 31, 1943 — March 8, 2024
Jimmy D. Cates, 80, of Pope, MS, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday March 8, 2024 at his home. Mr. Cates was the husband of Margaret Cates.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday March 16, 2024 at 11am at St. John's Catholic Church in Sardis.
Jimmy was born December 31, 1943 in Memphis, TN to the late Lloyd Ezra Cates and Ina Jo Jernigan Cates. Jimmy was a master electrician by trade and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Sardis, MS.
The family he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 60 years, Margaret Cates, his son, Robert Cates, one sister, Kathy Clymer, and one brother, Poodle Cates.
