Jimmy “Jim” Warren Edwards, Sr.

Jimmy “Jim” Warren Edwards, Sr., 74, of Batesville, MS, was born on November 10, 1951, in Charleston, Mississippi, and departed this earth on August 17, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday August 20, 2026, at Wells Funeral Home Batesville, MS with the family receiving friends at 12:00 noon.

Jim lived a full life and never had any trouble making sure the people around him were having a good time. He was employed with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and spent the majority of his working life as an HVAC Supervisor for A/C Electric.

He was preceded in death by his father, Felix Edwards (Martha); his mother, Dorothy Kriese (Sonny Conrad); His daughter Crystal Edwards, his brother, Daryl Edwards; and his sister-in-law, Melecia Swedbergh.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn O. Edwards, to whom he was married for 18 years. He also leaves behind his beloved children, Jimmy Edwards, Jr.; Michelle (Richard) Wells; Brandon Edwards; Angel (John) Waddell; Jeremiah Clardy; and George Clardy; along with 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Ricky (Michelle) Edwards; his sister, Summer “Becky” (Bob) Mueller; brothers-in-law, George “Dink” (Denise) O’Brian and John E. O’Brian; and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they made with him.

Jim loved riding motorcycles, taking his boat out on the lake, fishing, and—most of all—having a good time with his friends and family. He was the life of the party, the kind of person who could turn an ordinary day into a story worth telling. He was unapologetically himself, and there was never any mistaking when Jim Edwards was in the room.

But perhaps his greatest joy in life was being “Pawpaw.” His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. The memories, laughter, stories, and adventures they shared with their Pawpaw will live on in them for generations to come.

Jim lived life on his own terms. He loved hard, laughed often, made plenty of memories, and never tried to be anyone other than himself. His life was his journey—and what a wild ride it was. Though his journey has come to an end, the stories will continue, the laughter will be remembered, and the love he gave to his family and friends will live on.

Ride on, Jim. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
