José Antonio Medina, age 67, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at his home in Sardis, Mississippi.
A Funeral Mass for José will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Senatobia, MS. Friends are welcome to pay their respects prior to the Mass beginning at 12:30 p.m.
José was born on March 1, 1958 to the late Encarnacion Medina and Elena Noyola Botello in Mexico. As a long-time teacher in Mexico, José was deeply committed to the education and well-being of his students. He inspired many young minds and instilled in them a love for learning. In pursuit of greater opportunities, José moved to the United States, where he transitioned from education to entrepreneurship, operating his own stucco business. His work exemplified his craftsmanship, showcasing his substantial talent in repairing and remodeling homes.
José possessed a remarkable ability to draw and create, finding joy in the artistic process. He often utilized various materials to construct interesting items, reflecting his innovative spirit and dedication to his craft.
The family José leaves behind includes his wife, Mary Medina; his siblings, Lucila Ferretiz, Constantino Ferretiz, Fabricio Ferretiz, Yolanda Ferretiz, David Ferretiz, Olga Regina Ferretiz, and Luz Maria Ferretiz; and numerous extended family members.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Aurelio Medina.
