Joyce Ingram Casillas, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2026, in Nesbit, MS.
Joyce was born on June 24, 1943, in Scott County, MS to the late Ray and Frances Collins.
Joyce’s story is woven with warmth, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to family, faith, and friends. Throughout eighty-three years, she exemplified kindness in every aspect of her life, gently shaping those privileged to know her. Joyce nurtured a spirit of generosity that would become her hallmark.
Joyce was the wife of Sergio Casillas, whose partnership brought her joy and comfort. As a mother, she was a guiding light to her daughters Pam Ingram Fly (spouse William Fly), Angela Ingram Thompson, Suzanne Ingram Coke,(spouse John David Coke) and Shelli Ingram Scott (spouse Andrew Scott), each of whom carries forth her legacy of love and compassion. Her embrace extended to her grandchildren—nine in total—who knew the special tenderness only a grandmother like Joyce could give, and to her seven great-grandchildren, who brightened her later years with laughter and wonder.
Deeply rooted in the bonds of family, Joyce found sisterhood not only in her surviving sisters, Betty Furr and Carol Evans, but also in cherished memories of her departed siblings, Sylvia Collins and Ann Scales. She was the treasured daughter of Ray and Frances Collins, whose teachings and love guided her throughout her journey.
Joyce’s spirit shone brightest in service to others. She loved attending church and was a member of First Methodist Church in Senatobia, MS—a community she cherished and served faithfully. Her kitchen was a place of gathering and giving, where she wielded her extraordinary baking and cooking skills to offer comfort and connection, feeding both body and soul. Whether preparing a home-cooked meal or sharing a baked treat, each act was laced with love.
Friendship held a sacred place in Joyce’s heart. She valued and tended to her friendships with the same care as her family, considering each friend a gift and a blessing. Joyce delighted in reading, finding solace and inspiration in the pages of a good book. Traveling brought her special joy, as she admired the beauty of the world and the adventure of exploring new places.
Through all seasons of life, Joyce was a blessing to those around her—her nurturing presence, her listening ear, and her kind deeds remain treasures in the memories of all who loved her. She has left an indelible mark on many lives, a legacy of faith, devotion, and selfless giving.
