Larry Freeman, age 81, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends at 9:00 A.M. prior to the service. The family will have a private committal service following the service.
Larry was born on December 21, 1944, in Courtland, MS, to the late Russell and Mary McCann Freeman. Larry dedicated his life to working with his cows and tending to his pasture, nurturing his deep connection to nature.
Larry’s passion extended beyond farming; he found joy in fishing and often spent serene moments sitting in his shooting house, appreciating the beauty that surrounded him. A spirited individual, he was frequently seen gallivanting around in search of new adventures. He held a special place in his heart for playing basketball, a cherished pastime he enjoyed with his grandson, Tripp, during his childhood.
Larry leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Kelley Freeman White (Pete) of Pope, MS, and his two sisters, Pat Freeman Perry (Mickey) of Hernando, MS, and Sherry Freeman Hawkins of Coldwater, MS; one grandson, Tripp Still (Ashley) of Arkabutla, MS. Larry is also survived by his special friend, Betty Osbarn of Charleston, MS.
