Larry C. Guinn was born July 31, 1948 in San Antonio, TX to Donald F and Juanita H Guinn and died Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital Elder Care Facility in Charleston, MS, where he had received excellent care for the last 7 years. His passing was due to complications from stroke and Alzheimer's Disease.
The family will hold a gathering to celebration Larry's life from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Wells Funeral Home. All family and friends are invited to attend and enjoy this time remembering his kind soul and contribution to the Lord our Savior.
Larry had various careers throughout his lifetime including banker, law enforcement officer, business manager, ordained minister, hospital chaplain and grief counselor. He worked with several funeral homes in the Rio Grande Valley of TX by releasing white doves at the interments.
Larry had a strong love for music, which began in his early years. He loved singing, and playing the accordion, and the harmonica.
Larry was a member of Water Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
As a pastor, his duties took him to live in many places in Texas from the Dallas Fort Worth area to Waco, to the Rio Grande Valley. Larry then retired and moved to Batesville in 2012.
Larry is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hastings Guinn of Batesville MS. and daughter, Laurie Huff (Christopher) of Yukon, OK; his brother, William D Guinn (Sue) of Keene, TX.; 2 nieces, one great niece, two great nephews and many cousins and friends.
