Larry Warren Smith, Sr.

Larry Warren Smith, Sr, 73 of Batesville, MS, passed away at his home on November 6, 2021, due to a massive heart attack. Larry was born on August 11, 1948 to the late Samuel and Margaret Smith of Atlanta, GA. Upon finishing high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1968, Larry met the love of his life, Phyllis Weymers and were married a year later and had four sons. Upon leaving the Corps, Larry pursued his passion as a contractor and was very gifted in this field. He took great pride in his work. Larry leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories, stunts and hilarious sense of humor. If there was one thing Larry was, that was determined. No matter what the challenge or request, he gave his all to ensure he excelled all expectations, whether for himself or others. Larry was beloved by everyone, whoever met him. A fantastic father, in which he served as a Leader of the Boy Scouts, Club Master of the Webelos, and was also a member of the Optimist Club and Kiwanis Club. Larry was a member of the Church of Christ in Millington, TN. No matter the circumstances, you'd always leave Larry with a story of something funny or crazy. Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Phyllis, his sons, John Fresonki, Chris Fresonski, Larry W. Smith, II (Malinda) and James Cameron Smith. Larry loved and adored his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is now at peace, joining his beloved Basset Hound, Quennie. A family memorial service was held at the home of his son, Larry, on November 9, 2021 in Batesville, MS.
