Lena Pearl O'Bannon, age 83, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Sardis, MS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening, August 17, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.

Lena was born on July 7, 1937 to the late Walter Ennis Threadgill and Mattie Pearl Flannigan Threadgill in Iuka, MS. During her lifetime she was a factory worker. Lena enjoyed playing bingo and dancing. She also enjoyed cooking out at the lake and camping with her family. She was a member of the Como Church of Christ. Lena was considered the glue that held her family together and she will be deeply missed by all of them.

The family she leaves behind includes her husband, Elmer O’Bannon of Sardis; her children, Terry Gant (Carol) of Crockett, Randy Gant and his late wife Sheila of Senatobia, Donna Mothershed and her late husband Mark of Sardis, Jack Gant (Cindy) of Strayhorn, Debbie Lamar (Artha) of Sardis, Betty Arender (James Deloach) of Como, Tammy Gant of Sardis, Dennis O’Bannon (Katie) of Oxford, Michael O’Bannon of Missouri, Barbara O’Bannon of Pearl, and Johnny O’Bannon of Corinth; 34 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren whom she all adored.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by three children, Ronald Ray Gant, Bobby O’Bannon, and Brenda O’Bannon; two sisters, Elizabeth Green and Phyllis Bell; two brothers, Frank and Cletus Threadgill; one grandson, Austin Chase Irwin; and two great grandsons, Johnny Freeman and Christian Brumfield.
