Lindy Gloria Spivey Mayo passed away at her home in Crenshaw, MS on June 12, 2025. Lindy was the wife of Jerry Mayo.
Funeral Services for Lindy will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Crenshaw Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw, MS.
Lindy leaves behind her husband of 32 years Jerry Mayo of Crenshaw, MS; one daughter, Penny Pannell and her husband Kurt; two grandchildren, Cole Pannell and his wife Alisha, and Coby Pannell; her awaited great granddaughter Ivy Grace Pannell, all of Booneville, MS; stepson, Scottie Mayo of Sturis, MS, and his children, Wyatt Mayo, Zach Mayo, Scottie Mayo Jr., his wife Anna, and son, Whalen Mayo. She also leaves a stepdaughter, Tracy Thompson of Preston, MS., and children Nattlie Thompson, and Sarah Grace Thompson. She leaves three siblings, John Spivey and wife Leslie Spivey of Independence, MS., Junior Spivey of Corinth, MS, Vickey Hopper and husband J D Hopper of Corinth, MS. As well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larkin Spivey and mother Dorothy May Spivey; five brothers, J L Spivey, J T Spivey, Larry Spivey, Charley Spivey, and Ed Spivey; one sister, Lois Spivey Garrett.
Lindy was a member of Crenshaw Baptist Church. She loved her church family, her family and friends. She truly loved her husband Jerry who was with her 32 years. They were best friends since the beginning they wanted to be side by side and do everything together. Lindy loved and cared for all her nieces and nephews. She adored her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step grandchildren. She loved all and showed it with smiles and hugs, and prayers.
Lindy was a Gourmet Chef. She owned her own Snack Machine Vending Business. She loved gardening and canning. She loved camping and feeding and watching her birds. Lindy never met a stranger. She made friends everywhere she went and would stop everything and pray for them anywhere. Lindy loved life, people, and wildlife, but especially loved her God. She was a very special person with a beautiful soul. She taught us to live and love life and to pray. She will be missed by all.
