Lorraine Tramel

Lorraine Sorrells Tramel, age 92, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her home in the Shady Grove community near Batesville, MS. 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow their at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. 

Lorraine was born on February 12, 1929 to the late Jesse and Gladys Bramnoz Sorrells in Batesville, MS. She was a retired office manager from the MS State Tax Commission Office. Lorraine was a faithful member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She loved gardening and being outside in her yard. 

The family left behind to cherish her precious and loving memory includes her son, James Edward Tramel, III of Snellville, GA; one sister, Gertrude Sorrells of Little Rock, AR; 4 grandchildren whom she adored, James Edward Tramel, IV, George Erikson Tramel, Emily Ray Tramel, and Christopher Hunter Tramel; one great grandchild, Jaden Ray Fain. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward "Doc" Tramel, Jr.; her daughter, Judith Carole Conner; and 2 granddaughters, Jenny and Julie Conner.
