Margaret Wells Taylor Patton

Margaret Wells Taylor Patton, age 92, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Azalea Commons in Batesville, MS.

A graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will be gathering for a time of visitation at the cemetery beginning at 10:30 A.M. prior to the service.

Margaret was born on June 11, 1933, to the late Lousie Armstrong Taylor and Clarence Taylor, Sr. She graduated from Como High School and later married Calvin Pearson (Sonny) Patton on October 4, 1953.

She is survived by her three sons, Calvin (Roxann), Keith (Beverly), and William (Vicki); grandchildren, Cathryn (David) McKee, Leigh Taylor (Justin) Unruh, Josh (Michelle) Patton, Barrett (Mhairi) Patton, Austin (Liz) Patton and twelve great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Ailene Riddick and Clarence Taylor, Jr.

After raising her sons, Margaret was a librarian at SPHS for several years. She retired to care for her mother and was a homemaker. She enjoyed the game of Bridge with her friends and was an avid golfer. She and her husband, Sonny, traveled often to play golf on many different courses. Margaret was a devoted member of Batesville Presbyterian Church.
