Marilyn M. Bonnette

Marilyn M. Bonnette, age 95, passed away on December 9, 2024 at the Sardis Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. 

The family will hold a memorial service to Celebrate the Life of Marilyn at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. Friends will gather for visitation beginning at 1:00 prior to the service.

Marilyn was born December 26, 1928 in Marshalltown, IA to the late Doris and Wayne Olmstead, the fourth of five children. Marilyn and her late husband, Charles Lester "Chuck" Bonnette married June 23, 1946 and to this union was born three children. Throughout her life, Marilyn enjoyed camping and visited many destinations including Corpus Christie, Padre Island, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and the Grand Tetons. Marilyn was notorious for being the family meal planner and making sure the family was packed with everything they needed for their next adventure. Marilyn was known for her love of KitKats. Always involved in the Methodist church, Marilyn was most recently a member of Batesville First Methodist Church. 

In addition to her husband "Chuck", Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Jean Bonnette Griffin, her brother, Wayne Olmstead, and her sister, Eilene Olmstead Horn.

The family she leaves to cherish her memory include her daughters, Lynn Marie Bonnette, of Mina, AR, and Mildred Louise Bonnette, of Batesville, MS. She is also survived by one sister, Janice Daughinbaugh, as as well as two grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Kenlaw and Jamie Bonnette Griffin Pitcock.
