Martha Jo Benson, age 84, born on December 25th, 1939, of Hattiesburg, MS (formerly Madisonville, TX) went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2023.

Martha is survived by her son Jerry Lynn Butler (Deloris) of Hattiesburg, MS., daughter Jill Moore of College Station, TX., daughter-in-law Maricel Butler of Wylie, TX., granddaughters Angelie (Kevin) of Fort Stewart, GA., Gabriela, Alexandra, and Bricia, all of Wylie, TX., Grandson Tyler Moore, great-grandchildren Vinlie and Amarra, sisters Mary Sue Presley of Pope, MS., and Betty June Moore of Memphis, TN., along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Benson, son Jefferey Wayne Butler, parents Robert and Edna Hope, siblings Robert Eugene Hope, Barbara Joyce Ward, Ivy Ann Tharpe, and James Calvin Hope.

A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, Martha will be in our hearts forever and deeply missed by all who knew her. She was totally dedicated to her children, and her greatest pleasure in life was being a grandmother, forever a MiMi to her grandchildren,

The family would like to thank the staff at Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg, MS., and Forrest General Hospice for the loving care she received.

Services will be led by Bro. Timothy Butler at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. on February 17th at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am.
