Mary A. Parker, of Batesville, Mississippi, passed away on September 4, 2026, in Batesville at the age of 84. She was born on February 7, 1942, in Crowder, Mississippi.
A graveside will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.
Mary will be remembered as a woman who worked faithfully as a seamstress, a calling she truly loved. Sewing was not only her work, but also one of the things that brought her joy. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, and spending time in the kitchen as a fabulous cook. Her love for her church was an important part of her life, and she was a member of the Batesville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Parker, and by her parents, Ercel W. Bynum and Jewel Elizabeth Manning Bynum. Mary was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Gladys Davis, Louise Melton and Billy Bynum.
Mary leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her sons, Larry Parker (Brenda) of Pope, MS, and James Parker (Pam) of Enid, MS were part of the family circle that meant so much to her. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her memory with love.
Mary will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her steady hands as a seamstress, her good cooking, and her faithful love for her church.
