Ann McGregory

Mattie Ann McGregory, age 81, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at her daughter's home in Pope, Mississippi.

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, Mississippi. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, James McGregory. 

Ann was born on June 21, 1944 to the late Alvis and Mattie Sue West Bowles in Sledge, Mississippi. She was a former cook and server at the Quitman County High School, where she prepared many meals, nourishing the bodies of countless students. She left an impact on many students through her compassion and kindess she shared with everyone. Ann also worked at the former Garan's in Marks. 

Ann loved being outside, especially when she was fishing. She also enjoyed shopping and loved when her grandchildren came to visit and spend time with her. 

The family she leaves behind includes her two children, Lisa Woods (Jeff) and Darrell McGregory (Allison) both of Pope, MS; two grandchlidren, Hunter Craig (Ashlynn) and Fisher Craig (Karsyn); and three great grandchildren, Kherington Craig, Karter Craig, and Laker Craig. 

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Turner and Christine Stewart; and five brothers, Dick Bowles, James Bowles, Larry Bowles, Charlie Bowles, and Doug Bowles.
