Michael Hugh "Mike" Howell

Michael Hugh "Mike" Howell, age 65, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family of Mike will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. 

Mike was born on October 20, 1958 to the late Charlie Boyd Howell and Ella Woodruff Howell in Memphis, TN. He worked as a pipefitter throughout his lifetime. Mike was a very talented person, and if you needed something fixed, he could fix it. He always tried to stay busy, whether he was tinkering around the house, working with his tractor, or casting a line to catch a fish. Mike was very artistic; he loved to draw and paint, and he even played the guitar some. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and had his trust in Him. 

The family he leaves behind includes his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Howell of Batesville, MS; his three children, Jessica Reid (Steven) of Searcy, AR, Duane Houston of Batesville, MS, and Michael Howell of Batesville, MS; and eight grandchildren, Julie, Zander, Zevon, Zillion, Zaila, Avery, Zowen, and Elliot. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two siblings, Joyce Huddleston and Charlie Boyd Howell.
