Gail Shuford, age 92, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Desoto Healthcare Center in Southaven, MS.
The family will have a memorial gathering beginning at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Wells Funeral Home followed by a celebration of her life at 2:00 P.M. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.
Gail was born on October 10, 1933, in Memphis, Tennessee, she lived a life marked by kindness, devotion to family, and a profound love for the outdoors.
Gail was known for her joyful spirit and the deep connections she forged with those around her. She found great pleasure in fishing and boating on Sardis Lake, often spending treasured moments with her friends in the Cole's Point Community. Her love for nature and camaraderie was a defining aspect of her life and brought her much happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Edward and Alice Pauline Goodman Free; her husband, Mark Byron Shuford, Sr; her son, Mark Byron Shuford, Jr; as well as her sister, Alice Grace Malone, and her brother, Jesse Edward Free, Jr.
Gail is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gail Farmer Price (James) of Southaven, MS; her daughter Donna Farmer Quinn (Danny) of Collierville, TN; and her son John Byron Farmer, III (Garner) of Grayton, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Eric Caldwell (Heather), Kyle Caldwell (Victoria), and Daniel Quinn (Elizabeth), who, along with numerous great-grandchildren, continue to carry her memory forward.
