Parker Hayes Jones

Parker Hayes Jones, age 30, passed away Friday morning, November 7, 2025, in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville on Friday, November 14, 2025 for visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are also invited to celebrate Parker's life for a graveside service on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Cemetery in Courtland, Mississippi. 

Parker was born on August 2, 1995 in Southaven, Mississippi. He grew up surrounded by the love of his family and community. He graduated from North Delta High School in 2014, where he excelled as a football player and proudly served as captain of the team during his senior year. He made lasting friendships and gained the admiration of his peers as a selfless friend and a steadfast companion.

Parker embarked on his career in life as a lineman, becoming an esteemed member of the Power Pros Electrical Company, where he proudly served as a journeyman lineman and foreman of his team. His hard work, dedication, and breadth of knowledge in his field earned him respect among his colleagues, and he took great pride in a job well done.

Parker was known as a genuine man, characterized by a remarkable work ethic and a generous heart. He was the friend who would always give the shirt off his back, offering support to those around him without hesitation. Selfless, loyal, and deeply caring, Parker embodied what it meant to be a loving family man and friend, never hesitating to lend a helping hand.

In his free time, Parker cherished the great outdoors, indulging in hobbies such as hunting and fishing. His love for MS State Football was a deep-rooted passion that united him with friends and family. While working in Michigan, he took pleasure in the breathtaking scenery of a state he came to appreciate, all while keeping his Mississippi roots close to his heart. Parker's childhood and family church, Independence Presbyterian Church, played an integral role in his life and spiritual growth.

The family left behind to cherish his memory include his partner, Mary-Lennox Hopper of Knoxville, TN; his father, Jason J. Jones of Batesville, MS; his mother, Jessica Montgomery of Lexington, MS; two siblings, Payton Jones and Grace Jones; maternal grandfather, Randy Wardlaw; maternal grandmother, Dianna Wardlaw; and a special aunt, Jenny Jones Sullivant and her husband, Scott Sullivant of Batesville, MS.

Parker also leaves behind a host of extended family, whom were all more like siblings, each sharing a special bond: Bailey Sullivant, Katie Wardlaw, Elizabeth Wardlaw, Anna Camp, Ali Gurley, Aiden Sullivant, Caden Camp, Everette Camp, Holden Camp, Riley Mills Camp, Adelyn Gurley, Avery Gurley, and Waverly Gurley.

He was also a caring uncle to his nieces and nephew, whom he adored, Iyla Jones, Addy Jones, Ivy Jones, and Dax Jones.

Parker also considered his lineman family as his own family, a brotherhood that both his coworkers and family will forever cherish and remember.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Joel Blake Jones; his paternal grandparents, Joel Eugene Jones and Lorene Vaughan Jones; and one aunt, Angie Jones Ellis.
