Randy Runnels

Joseph Randall "Randy" Runnels, age 63, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Senatobia Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility in Senatobia, Mississippi.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Courtland Baptist Church, 230 E Railroad Ave, Courtland, MS 38620. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Randy was born on January 2, 1963 in Sardis, Mississippi to the late Joseph Edward Runnels and Clara Dell Smith Runnels.

Randy was dealt difficulties throughout his life, due an accident at a young age, but it never discouraged him. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors.

The family he leaves behind includes his longtime partner, Vera Friend; his two children, Candace Porter (Willie) of Sardis, MS, and Austin Runnels of Batesville, MS; two brothers, Ricky Runnels (Vickie) and Ronnie Runnels (Cindy); and two grandchildren, Karmin Porter and Kaiden Porter.
