Sandra was born February 16, 1945, in Lambert, MS to the late Dock Wilfred and Maggie Maybell Jones King. She lost her mother to cancer at the age of 13 and spent the next few years caring for her father and younger brother, Jimmy. She married Birlon Swindoll on August 24, 1962, and they made their home in Batesville, where Birlon farmed and she crafted her skills as a homemaker. She became an extraordinary seamstress and did a lot of sewing for her family. She was always a hard worker and would spend hours in her vegetable garden, and she was an excellent cook. In 1986 she took a job as the store manager of Factory Connection, a new women’s clothing store that was opening in Batesville. She met so many people during her years there as store manager who always remembered her years later and what a pleasant nature she had. In 1997 she went to work for Brad Clark at Clark Insurance in Batesville and became an insurance agent. In 2008 she decided to retire to care for her great-granddaughter, Lakin. She loved her family and was especially proud of her three children and many grandchildren. In her later years she enjoyed bird watching, reading, and keeping her mind sharp by playing word puzzle games on her cell phone. In her earlier years she was a member of Enon Baptist Church, where she taught the pre-school Sunday School class and worked in the church nursery. She will always be remembered for her love for children. She was currently a member of Crowder Baptist Church. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and often mentioned looking forward to seeing her dear Mother in Heaven, whom she missed so dearly.
Sandra’s caring and loving memory will be remembered most by her husband of 61 years, Birlon Swindoll of Batesville, MS; two sons, Barry Swindoll (Jennifer) of Batesville, MS, Jeff Swindoll (Angela) of Batesville, MS; daughter Amy Swindoll Sandifer (John) of Batesville, MS; one brother, Danny Ryals (Sheila) of Lambert, MS; one sister, Mickie Rodgers (Clay) of Lexington, MS; six grandchildren, Tiffany Beavers (Kris), Kayla Reynolds (Mike), Shelbie Moss (Ryan), Kirstie Toner, Jessica Swindoll, Parker Sandifer; eleven great-grandchildren, Lakin Shaw, Ethan Bridges, Emersyn Stuckey, Kameron Beavers, Lea Beavers, Zeke Reynolds, Dax Reynolds, Evan Moss, Harrison Moss, Gabe Roberts, Annaleigh Toner and one great-great-grandchild, Paisley Nobles.
