Shawn Camp, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, entered this world on July 16, 1997, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. His journey came to an untimely end on August 10, 2025, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held in Shawn's honor on August 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, Mississippi. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence, celebrating Shawn’s life and the love he shared with those around him, starting at 11:00 AM. The interment will take place later that day at Forrest Memorial Park.
A dedicated logger by trade, Shawn was not just known for his hard work but for the warmth he brought to every interaction. His personality shone brightly, with everyone around him considering him a great friend. He had a unique ability to connect with others; he got along with anyone and everyone. Shawn's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies and interests. He found joy in hunting, fishing, mud riding, and working in his yard, activities that allowed him to immerse himself in nature. A sweet soul, he treasured the time spent with his family, particularly his only son, Logan, whom he adored dearly.
Shawn's legacy will be carried on by his loving family, including his father, Mitchell Camp (Jessica), and his mother, Dottie Kitty Odom. He is survived by his cherished son, Logan Nicholas Camp, and his siblings Paton Camp, Nicholas Camp, Chelsea Camp Mills, Daniel Woods. His family also includes his grandparents, Arvis "Buddy" Camp (Barbara), along with his step-grandmother, Daile Johnson. Shawn was a proud uncle to his nieces, Blakely Reece Mills and Everleigh Rose Camp. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Barry Odom and Dottie Kitty Odom; great-grandparents, A.C. Freeman and Juanita Alexander; and step-pawpaw, James Johnson; great grandmother Betty Zenor and his step-great grandfather Atis Zenor, all of whom now watch over him.
The community will gather to remember a truly remarkable individual whose spirit, love for the outdoors, and deep affection for his family and friends will be deeply missed.
