Shirley Whitworth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Batesville, Mississippi, on January 10, 2026, at the age of 83.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Shirley was born on July 1, 1942, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Joe Dudley Keen and Indie Mae Gurley Keen. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home.

Throughout her lifetime, Shirley was a devoted homemaker, which allowed her to raise two wonderful children and tend to her home with great care and love, fostering an environment filled with warmth and affection.

Shirley was not only a nurturing figure within her household but also a passionate individual with a multitude of interests. She was exceptionally crafty, enjoying activities such as sewing, crafting, and painting. Her creativity extended to her gardens, where she found joy in tending to the flowers that beautified her yard. Shirley was also a devoted member of the Tocowa Baptist Church.

Her life was enriched by the love she shared with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Whitworth, and her cherished two children, Teresa Ingram and Steven Whitworth all of Batesville, MS. Furthermore, she leaves behind two granddaughters, Amber Whitworth and Kristen Bridges, along with five great-grandchildren: Kainan Pettit, Aiden Holloway, Haven Holloway, Indie Mae Holloway, and Katherine Bridges, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by two sisters, Patretia Whitworth of Grenada, MS, and Geraldine Tyler of Jackson, TN.

Along with her parents, Shriley was preceded in death by six siblings: Joe D. Keen, Jr., Robert Muriel Keen, James Harold Keen, Billy Joe Keen, Troy Nelson Keen, and Imogene Keen Price.

Shirley Whitworth's legacy of love and dedication to family, her creative spirit, and her unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
