Thomas G. Rhodes, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Regional One Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on September 30, 1949, in Memphis, he lived a life marked by commitment, service, and an unwavering dedication to his family and faith.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sardis Lake Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Stevens officiating.
In his lifetime, Thomas pursued a career as an accountant, a role in which he demonstrated attention to detail and steadfast reliability. His heart and spirit shone brightly within his community and church, where he was a deeply engaged member of the Sardis Lake Baptist Church. His contributions included serving as the church organist, teaching Sunday school, and fulfilling the duties of assistant treasurer, reflecting his commitment to both his faith and his community. He was known for his generosity, often donating to mission works that were close to his heart, embodying his belief in helping others.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Rhodes of Batesville, MS. He also leaves behind three children who carry forward his legacy: Cheryl Leach Kilzer of Olive Branch, MS, Jeffrey Paul Leach of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Cynthia Rhodes Alberson (Trey) of Germantown, TN, and his loving sister, Mary Dianne Rhodes Eason (Larry) of Sardis, MS.
His legacy continues through his five grandchildren, Benjamin Wayne Kilzer, Savanna Leach Eastland, Cassidy Michele Kilzer, Brandon Paul Leach (Paige), and Audrey Nichole Alberson, as well as three great-grandchildren, Thomas Jackson "T.J." Harrell, IV, Morgan James Eastland, and Ella Marie Renee Kilzer. Each of them holds a piece of his heart and memories that will carry on his spirit.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson "T.J." Rhodes and Florence Brush Rhodes, whose roots and values informed much of his character and life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sardis Lake Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
