Tommie Sue Heafner, age 80, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Batesville First Methodist Church with the family receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Following the service, the family will have a private committal service at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS.
Tommie Sue was born on July 11, 1945, in Batesville, Mississippi, she was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her professional accomplishments as the former office manager for Heafner Motors, Inc., located in Batesville.
Tommie Sue’s life was one enriched by her passions and interests. She was an avid reader, always immersing herself in the pages of a good book. Time spent in her flower garden brought her joy, as did dining out at Mexican restaurants. A love for travel and a particular fondness for eating tomatoes also filled her days with pleasure and satisfaction.
Her family and friends remember her fondly as a person who brought warmth and kindness into their lives. She is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Allen Russell (Connie) and Thomas Jason Russell. Tommie Sue cherished her role as a grandmother to Lauren Russell Pierce (Kristopher) and Mitchell Allen Russell (Jessica), and she took immense joy in the lives of her great-grandchildren: Cooper, Tessleigh, Gabby, Cannon, ViVi, Cade, and Bates. Her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Williams Russell, and her niece, Jennifer Russell Wilkie (Mike), along with her great-nephews, Thomas Wilkie (Lacey) and Jordan Wilkie, also survive her, carrying forward her memory within the family she loved so dearly.
Tommie Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edwin and Melva Sue Manning Williams; her husbands, Jimmy Darrell Russell and Henry E. Heafner; and her brothers, Thomas Edwin Williams, Jr., and Ronald Wayne Williams. Their legacies, intertwined with hers, live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Tommie Sue Heafner’s life was truly a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. May her memory serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.
