Winfred Mervin "Bo" Reid, age 87, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M.
Bo was born November 21, 1934 in Lambert, MS to the late Winfred Franklin and Thelma Skeen Reid. He was of the Baptist faith and honorably served in the U.S. Army. Bo and his wife, Peggy, are the owners of Southern Crop Growers in Crowder, MS. He had been in the crop insurance industry for 41 years. He always made sure his customers were taken care of and considered them as family. Bo was reliable, trustworthy, dedicated, and persevered. He had a never quit attitude. Bo continued to work up until he passed. Bo had a contagious joy about him, jokes and laughter were plentiful! He loved his boats, even the ones that sank! Bo also loved Nascar, antique cars and people. He never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife, Peggy Mitchell Reid of Batesville, MS; daughter, Angie Reid Moreland (Gary) of Como, MS; step-son, Brad Irwin (Rhonda) of Courtland, MS; sister, Jean Reid Hout Chronister (late Duane) of Sikeston, MO; nephew, Robert Franklin "Jody" Hout of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Jamie Thompson, Crystal Adams, Laney Irwin, Casey Locke and five great-grandchildren.
